Founded in the mid-1980s at Sandbach Leisure Centre, Sandbach Gymnastics has grown from humble beginnings as a Saturday recreational club into one of the UK’s premier gymnastics organisations. Our journey began with a simple “kit in, kit out” approach, but our passion and commitment quickly set us apart. We were proud to have produced our first international gymnast, Charlotte Holdcroft, who represented the Junior National Team in Belgium, a milestone that marked the start of our club’s tradition of excellence. In May 1991, we took a major step forward by moving into our first dedicated facility with full-time coaches. Though just 3,000 sq. ft., it became the launchpad for developing high-performance gymnasts and coaches who would go on to represent the club and the nation at Commonwealth, European, and World events. Our continued growth led to a move in 2006 to a 9,000 sq. ft. facility, where our membership soared to over 600. Sandbach Gymnastics became a powerhouse, competing at club, county, regional, national, and international levels. A transformative moment came in December 2016, thanks to the generous support of the Denise Coates Foundation. When a 20,000 sq. ft. building became available just 100 meters from our existing gym, our dreams began to take shape. After a rapid and successful refit by Sandycroft Construction, we opened the doors to our state-of-the-art facility on 1 st March 2020. The response was overwhelming, visitors and members alike were amazed, calling it “one of the best facilities in the UK.” We are deeply grateful to the Denise Coates Foundation for making this vision a reality. Today, Sandbach Gymnastics stands as a beacon of opportunity and inspiration for Cheshire East and neighbouring regions, ensuringLev a vibrant legacy for generations to come.
